A Spring Bridal Shower
Unfortunately when life gets busy somethings have to be put to the side, and my blog is usually the easiest thing to use for this because its what I do for fun. I am still new to this blogging game and so trying to stay on track and make time for all the ideas that pop into my head on a daily basis, and actually having a life is hard sometimes. Just wait till I add a baby to that pile I always tell myself, but in light of this I am trying to keep up with what makes me happy and hopefully my daily organization will stick.
Since I have been away form my blog I have been busy, not only with my cosplay but as Maid-of-Honor for my best friends wedding I had the privilege of doing whatever I wanted for her bridal shower in May. I may have taken me two months to plan and execute, but it was totally worth it, it went fantastic! The brides colors are Teal, Tiffany Blue, and Gold, so I was able to stick with a theme where the decorations could be re-used, which they were.
The menu consisted of a burrito bar that included chorizo & bacon, with eggs, salsa, and green chili, mini chicken n' waffle sliders, mini pancakes, hummus stuffed peppers, yogurt with fruit, and of course donuts. There was of course a mimosa bar and a small coffee bar as well.
I don't have much up on my walls yet so I pretty much got a clean slate to work with decoration wise. The hanging decorations served to cover the chandelier in my dining room and add some color, while the streamers and banner in the living room double as backdrop for the Polaroid pictures everyone took with the bride as her souvenir.
We played the newlywed game, ring hunt, memory match, and wedding themed heads up. It was so nice out that we were all able to sit outside to play as well! This was such a fun day, and thoroughly worth the planning.
