Robin Hood is my absolute favorite Disney movie and in the many times I watched it, it never dawned on me that Trigger was selling Blackberry Pies at the festival. That is until recently, last time I watched it it hit me. Thank goodness my husbands favorite berry is the black one, and since I felt like making a pie I figured I would create my own recipe along with it.
I am all about cooking and baking in Fall/Winter, not unlike my summer and spring, but cold weather is different, I get to make some of my favorite recipes for it. I have decided, as the generous soul that I am, to share my favorites with my readers! Maybe it will bring inspiration even possibly dinner (or breakfast!) to your table. Let me know if you use these recipes and how they turn out for you...?
Yum Yum! Who doesn't like cupcakes? One of my favorite things to do is swap recipes and I am so ready for this five fandom friday! I have taste tested all of these recipes myself and I approve of all, try not to drool as you scroll. All of of these recipes are also on my Pinterest!
Recently I have come upon some of my best skin ever, its been an amazing time! In the past I have had real problems with acne, and it can be the most frustrating stuff. I have fixed my diet too and while that makes a world of difference I still have to keep everything clean! So I have put together this list of products I use, to try and help out anyone who is still frustrated too.
I only used to listen to podcasts occasionally, I never used to understand what a good podcast will do to you. It can suck you in, make you yearn for that next episode, possibly "jones" for it, if you will. People would always tell me about their favorite podcasts and the hype never got to me, until I found one that pulled me straight in. Since then I have been on the search for something of that caliber, and in that search I have come across some really awesome stuff.
Ah Friday, arguably the best day of the week and it gets even better when I get to post Five Fandom Fridays! This week we Female Geek Bloggers are taking a look at the 5 Fictional Vehicles I'd most like to travel in. Now that is a broad topic, and in being so I have decided to narrow my selections down to actual cars, otherwise I would have at least 20 vehicles on my list. Enjoy!
July is quickly coming to an end and with August comes a whole new set of things to do. Not kidding, I have so much going on with a sweet concert, house hunting and my favorite anime coming back on August will be jam packed. The first up on my list is one of my best friend's wedding in Michigan. We've both have never been to Michigan and I am for one excited to be shown around a little by some awesome locals!
We are not only traveling to the wedding, we are both in the actual event itself. So while I have my dress picked out and my hair is being done for me - yay - I get to do my own makeup and I am having a hard time deciding what to do, to no one's surprise. I had both my hair and makeup done for my own wedding and even though I don't think I wear a crazy amount of makeup, I've never had to look good for someone else's pictures. So in an effort to look my best I have four different makeup options that I would love some input from my readers on, so tell me which look is your favorite?
I received my necklace from Femmecraft the other day and I like it so much I had to share. The worst part about the whole thing was narrowing it down to which one I wanted! I decided to go with the Galactic Alliance necklace (because I can't choose sides).
My friends and I recently talked abut the detox teas you see all over Instagram or Facebook, and whether or not they even worked. I have been trying to decide on the best one for a while and I finally settled on Skinny Fox Detox Tea. And I did not pick this solely based on the name, is was just a lovely coincidence. I read nothing but great reviews about the results people had with this product and also the fact that everyone said it tasted delicious was a big deciding factor, if I have to drink this for 2 weeks straight it better taste delicious! I would love for you to follow me on my journey to a healthier lifestyle and a better body, hopefully.
In getting to know my IGGPPC mug swap partner I came across her blog bookloverblue.blogspot.co.uk and learnt what a fantastic writer she is! I couldn't resist but to share her delightful stories and blog with my readers....
I have been bestowed upon the Leibster Award by the lovely duo at Exquisitely Geek and because the Leibster Award is set up to promote up-and-coming blogs and their bloggers in excepting the award my duties include answering some thought out questions from Exquisitely Geek, here goes nothing!
2015 has proven so far to be a great year for movies, even so I am so behind its ludicrous. I do love watching movies, but I usually prefer sitting on my couch cuddling with my dogs and my man to going to the theater and sitting in uncomfortable seats for 3 hours. Though I can't deny that some movies need to be seen immediately, and then there are some that don't. Here I have a list of the movies I either need to see, are going to see, and a few I am so on the fence about I need some input before I go spending more than $20 on a shitty movie. So I guess what I'm trying to get at is, what do you guys think? Am I missing a great movie on this list? Or do I have something listed that my money would be better spent on something productive, like beer?
Since we are moving here soon (cross your fingers), I have been getting excited about the fact that I will soon get a clean slate to decorate! So what better way to stay up beat about the whole moving process than finding stuff to fill up the new house? I present my June Must Haves...
My trip to the city by the bay was definitely an unforgettable one, not only were Darryl and I celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary but I got to see my best friend Bettina and her equally awesome and hilarious boyfriend Mike.
Wow it's already friggin' June you guys! Someone told my husband the other day that when you get older the days seem to take forever and the years fly by, I couldn't agree more. I figured I would share a little bit of what I am doing with my time and my crazy life.
It was a rainy day Saturday May 23rd, but it did not deter the heroes. " We shall prevail!" they yelled, as they journeyed forward. They would do everything in their power to be there. The event they had been preparing for many months for. Though does anyone, really, know how to prepare for an event like this? Hard work, and dedication? Perhaps, but for someone like this you need to immerse yourself in the culture, become one with the people and learn their ways.
Wedding season is upon us! Whether or not you are in one, maybe it's your wedding, or you have been invited to 5 different weddings, like myself, you are bound to see some cool wedding decorations. In the spirit of the season I have compiled a list of some super geeky, wicked cute, and fantastically awesome wedding cake toppers.
I have a love/hate relationship with makeup. Since I was 13 years old I have loved make up, I love getting new products, actually applying them, and being able to experiment with something that isn't permanent is the best! However, my hate for makeup is skin deep, literally. I break out so easily, my skin is like a 14 year old boy, and heaven forbid my hormones would ever be in check long enough to clear anything up. So because of this I have some pretty specific/fantastic products I use to keep my skin from breaking out while still rocking my awesome look!
The second installment of Fan Fiction Friday comes from MatrixNight on Fanfiction.net. The story is based off of the anime Attack on Titan (an absolute favorite of mine), and follows the 3 main characters Eren, Mikasa, and Armin...
It's officially the main Cosplay season, and Denver'c Comic Con is coming up at the end of May!... in getting ready I have been scouring the net for a while, and I there is so much good cosplay out there its insane! I wanted to share my favorites but this took me a while to narrow down, no lie.
My first encounter with Soot Sprites or "pitch-black assistants" (that's such a bad-ass name) was in Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, as they are assisting Kamajii in the boiler room of the bath house. Although they may not have a pivotal role in the whole of the movie, they leave a lasting impression. So I decided to create my own version of the Susuwatari...
To say I am a newbie at crocheting was absolutely true, until I decided to be ambitious and tackle the cowl Katniss wear while in district 13 in Hunger Games Catching Fire. The second I saw her wearing that I knew I had to either buy it or make it, just like everyone else.
So my husband and I gave up on cable almost a year ago, we rely solely on our Roku3and movies. When we saw that Netflix had History’s Houdini “biopic” my husband pounced, and it was a good call. Adrian Brody stars in this miniseries chronicling the life of Ehrich Weiss aka Harry Houdini
Before I got married everyone told me I would hardly remember my wedding because I wouldn't have that much fun, running around trying to say hello to everyone, or just being generally overwhelmed I guess. Well my wedding was the exact opposite!
I am a giant supporter of Etsy, and though that can sometimes be detrimental to my bank account, I still can't help myself. So instead of my husband lecturing me about my purchases I decided to compile a list of my favorite items from Etsy in the month of March, and in the process hopefully inspire some of you to support these independent artists.
You guys, I am so excited for the Attack on Titan live-action movie! Now normally I would be against this, which I was when I first heard about it. Its extremely difficult to find a live action movie based on an anime, but add to the fact that the characters fly around on cables and have to destroy giant humanoid Titans who dine on 15 humans as a snack, there is a reason this is an anime.
